Choose your learning pathway

We accept students based on ability, not age, with two learning pathways available.

LEARNING PATHWAYS

Most students start in Year 7 for the junior track pathway.

Able students can enter the GCSE track early, regardless of their age.

Open to all

The doors at Al-Birr are open to all students seeking academic success.

Junior track

The Junior track sets students up to progress onto GCSE studies. The focus will be on building competence in English Language and Mathematics.

There is no set age requirement. Students will only need to complete an entrance exam to test their ability. But, for reference, most students will be in Year 7.

GCSE track

This is a 3-year course that prepares students to sit their GCSEs with grades 7 to 9 in less than 50% of the school day. The winning curriculum combines academic rigour with life skills.

Students will study for exams in: English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Computer Science, Economics and Business Studies.

After successful completion, students will be confident and competent independent learners who can go on to study an extensive range of A Level subjects.

Exam boards

Students will sit the international GCSE and iGCSE exams which are recognised globally. Exam boards are carefully selected by our experts for each subject. They include Edexcel and Cambridge.

Parents won’t be left without support. We provide guidance on finding local exam centres so you're not left in a lurch.

Bringing education to life

A world-class education builds students holistically. At Al-Birr, we prepare our students for the real world by creating this tangible link.

What this means is, students apply their academic knowledge practically and build confidence in ways conventional schooling doesn’t facilitate.

Students at Al-Birr will set up their own businesses, write for our newsletter, and build their touch-typing proficiency. This is how we bring education to life.

Building excellence in the next generation

MENTORSHIP

Ihsan mentorship programme

As Muslims, we are encouraged to adopt ihsan, excellence, in all we do. This principle is at the core of Al-Birr, and one we build in our students.

Each week, students will benefit from 30 minute sessions grounded in the sunnah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad SAW to build their aspirations and work ethic.

We will also host special guest speakers who have excelled in their lives, be it in academia, sports, entrepreneurship or religious studies.
