What will your child study?

Each child is different. So, we offer two learning pathways to support them the best we can.

The first is a year-long pre-GCSE track ideal for younger students who would benefit from building their confidence and skills. They will be building competence in English Language and Mathematics here.

The second is the 3-year GCSE track that prepares students to gain 8 GCSEs from grades 7 to 9.

A winning curriculum is balanced and designed to build academic and practical life skills for your child.

So, students at Al-Birr are primed for success with our subject offering, which allows them flexibility to study an extensive range of A Level subjects in the future.’

They will study for GCSEs in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Computer Science, Economics and Business Studies.

Enrichment

A world-class education builds students holistically. At Al-Birr, we prepare our students for the real world by creating this tangible link.

What this means is, students apply their academic knowledge practically and build confidence in ways conventional schooling doesn’t facilitate.

Students at Al-Birr will set up their own businesses, write for our newsletter, and build their touch-typing proficiency. This is how we bring education to life.

Exam boards

The international GCSE and iGCSE are internationally recognised exams and are available in most countries worldwide. We select exam boards for each subject based on content and exam style. These include Edexcel and Cambridge.

Don’t worry–you won’t be left without support! We provide the guidance you need to find your local exam centre. For UK-based students, these will often be local schools for many reasons, including making your life simpler!

Interactive, live classes with the latest tech

Your child will benefit from the systems developed by top tier project managers that accelerate their learning. Leveraging Subject matter experts, our unique approach is all your child needs to access those 8s and 9s

Live online teaching

Students have direct access to their teacher through a leading EdTech. Each child needs a supportive and relaxed learning environment. At Al-Birr, we pride ourselves on the tutor-student understanding that is created in our classrooms. How else will they thrive?

It goes further. We employ only the best resources to keep learning fun and engaging, such as whiteboard, polls and more!

Data drives success. We know this, and you do too. So, we use analytics to track each student’s performance, keeping them performing their best.

Scheduled homework sessions

We don’t assign homework for after school hours. That’s right, in less than half a school day, your child completes their learning, and homework. It’s a steal.

At Al-Birr, we know homework time can be tough for parents and students alike. So, we schedule them weekly, guiding them on what they should do, when.

But, we don’t just leave your child in the lurch. Homework can seem daunting to the best students, at times. So, unlike conventional school systems, we teach our students HOW to learn.

Unfortunately, many students cant perform at their best, because they need support. At Al-Birr, we are committed to leveling the playing field so each child has the opportunity to succeed.’

Access 24/7

In conventional school systems, once the lesson has been taught, that’s it. Pens down. Your access to learning has ended.

Those traditional methods aren’t always conducive to learning. Students need access to classes to recap and revise. So, we give them just that!

Through our cloud learning platform, students can go over content and consolidate their learning with ease.

Plus, when your child falls ill, there’s no need for them to self-learn the content. They can focus on getting better, and catch up when they are well.

Not to mention, you, as parents, have flexibility over your family’s schedule. Any lessons missed can be caught up with seamlessly.

What more could you ask for?

Timetabling for Success

Business organisations invest heavily in project management because it gives results. We do the same for your child's education.

Our tutorials and homework sessions are delivered between 1.00 pm and 4.30 pm Monday to Friday. Timings differ slightly between years.

To maximise student focus, we limit the length of each tutorial and homework session, prioritising efficiency and timely breaks

To reinforce all content and ensure it is fully understood by students, we schedule tutorials and homework sessions together. This allows them to build on the knowledge and confidence over time.

Weekly Timetabling

Revision Intensives

Students need structured revision sessions in the lead up to exams to maximise their performance. So, we run revision intensives to provide the best support possible.

We schedule these in advance in line with our staggered exam timetable to ensure your child gets the best results without the stress. By taking exams in both Summer and Winter examination series, there don’t need to worry about revising 12 subjects at the same time!

Term Dates

We recognise the need for quality family time, which is why our holidays align with the Islamic calendar. Students benefit from having Ramadan and Eid entirely off to focus on what truly matters.

Our academic year runs in tandem with the UK school year otherwise, with less time spent in education than the average UK-based school.
